From the 70’s to 90’s, Bergolo was very well-known for a huge music festival that fascinated a lot of people interested in cultural activities. However, due to the mass migration to the city and the suspension of the festival, Bergolo has lost its vitality. From the late 90’s, the municipality started to hold an art contest as a way to revitalize the vibe in the town and attract visitors to get over a decline in population and economic slump. Every year, it chooses the best piece amongst entries that would be exhibited in the village. Now, Bergolo has become an open-air gallery with 68 unique and creative art objects.
